Student of the Month: Madeleine Bunting
The extraordinary talents of the YOTL students never cease to amaze us. Take for example, the amazing Madeleine Bunting. Madeleine has lived in Hackney for over thirty years with her family, and has been a regular visitor to Yoga On the Lane for the last six years. She was a journalist on the Guardian for twenty five years as a columnist and Associate Editor. And she is an award winning writer of fiction and non-fiction. Her most recent book, her fifth, Labours of Love, the Crisis of Care, was longlisted by the Baillie Gifford Prize in 2020, and is out in paperback in May. Her second novel is published by Granta in July, Ceremony of Innocence.
'The wonderful teachers at YoTL have opened my eyes to yoga; from the start, the friendliness and inspirational teaching of Elisa, Erick, Lucy, Jess and many others have helped me to build yoga into my daily routine. Behind it all, lies Naomi's shrewd selection of teachers who reflect her ethos and understanding of yoga. At different times, I have brought all three of my now adult children to classes which were revelatory for them - hopefully planting the seeds of a future practice.'
