Yoga for Diabetes with Dr Bryony Hughes

Living with diabetes is exhausting. From the day you are diagnosed, you never get a day off. Managing the highs and lows of the condition can take its toll on physical and emotional health as well as impacting on family and friends.

This 1.5hr workshop is a chance to get together with those who get it. Bryony has been living with diabetes for nearly 15 years.

In the workshop, she will guide you through practices to calm, soothe and nourish: restorative yoga, Nidra, breath work, and meditation. There will also be space to reflect and share on how your diabetes affects you.

Bio: Dr Bryony Hughes trained as a medical doctor and now works as a yoga therapist. In the past, she worked as a clinician in hospital medicine and primary care as well as an academic in public health. She is passionate about making scientific knowledge  accessible and relevant to those from different backgrounds. Through her teaching, she seeks to ignite curiosity and inquiry, making space for students to integrate their learning about health and yoga. Her experience of Type 1 diabetes has transformed her understanding of chronic health conditions. For her, diabetes takes her yoga practice off the mat and into everyday life.
