If you've ever taken a yoga class, you'll know that many of the postures involve the upper body- from Downward Facing Dog, to Side Plank and even Cat/Cow and Low Lunge. Building strength and mobility here is key to feeling comfortable and confident in your body, and may help you to move in a pain free way, both on and off the mat. In this workshop we will explore ways of moving with more ease through the joints of the upper body: Shoulders, elbows, wrists, head, neck and hands. We will learn how to develop strength and range of motion in these areas so that we can be much more stable and grounded as we practice key yoga postures, including Downward Dog, Plank and Chaturanga variations, and explore strategies to make arm balances including Crow, Handstand, and Side Plank a lot more stable, and a lot more fun! Remember that all levels are welcome, and there will be variations to suit all needs. We'll finish our time together by resting in some luscious, relaxing postures that will leave us feeling restored and rejuvenated.
When you feel strong in your upper body you can breathe more deeply and show up with more confidence and alertness in your life, especially in matters of the heart and challenging work situations.
Being able to support yourself and what your life requires through the upper body, whether doing a press up or getting out of a chair, is vital to your well-being. Give your body a chance to serve you better. Learn how to move with more ease and more strength so that you can be alive in a body that works for you, that supports you.
Move Easy, Move Strong is for all levels.
