This six-week course passes through a wide range of asana and movement, breathwork, and practices of dreaming, rest, and intimacy with yourself: yoga nidra, self-massage, a little mantra, and restorative yoga. Through this, you'll have the opportunity to create or develop a meditation practice of your own, one led by pleasure and adaptability, rather than sheer discipline and effort. We'll move between these two somatic focuses, fluidity and tenderness, and see how the two enable each other. On the one hand: light, fluid asana sequences, the breath as something natural and flowing, even movement and awareness practices for meeting emotions - if you like - and seeing their liquidity through the body. On the other hand: dreaming as a collective, holding yourself and being held in rest by blankets, bolsters, and by a mellow and warm practice community.
In some ways, this course is about exploring experiences of bhakti and neglected, joyful meditation practices through lots of movement, some breathwork, and some yoga nidra (a soft, creative space of dreaming and rest). In other ways, this course is an accessible, inclusive, playful (re)introduction to a yoga that celebrates your sense of your own body, and supports you in finding what feels good. All welcome, across accessibility needs and all levels of experience; please reach out with any questions or concerns.
Six Mondays. May 9th to June 13th, £75
